WEEKLY REVIEW #2

THURSDAY 11TH OF FEBRUARY

The second week of February has concentrated on continuing the four themes we briefly looked at last week- these are the following - Connection, Contain, Abstract and finally Narrative.

We where given the task of adding them to a public powerpoint and giving a less detailed analysis to our chosen researchers and photo shoots whilst also giving a more descriptive and elaborate version on our blogs.( Links down below to each themes blog post )

Its still a work in progress and I haven't finished all four themes but so far I have really enjoyed researching different artists and photographers. As someone with a deep love and passion for art its refreshing to gain a wider knowledge and inspiration from looking at artists instead of just photographers.

Saying that however I definitely found the themes so vague ( particularly contain! ) it was hard to get to grips with the vast amount of information that could be relevant to my themes on the internet. I have done all my planning first and found the researchers for each theme etc first to make it a easier process now that I have understood fully how I am interpreting each theme.

On a slightly unrelated note but still a very relevant one to todays society- one fifth of people have received the COVID-19 vaccination. The UK are over a month in our third lockdown since the virus came about and its optimistic to see defences moving forward so we can ultimately resume some kind of normality.

Additionally as a photographer having the restrictions has majorly affected the way and regularity I take photos ( my main interest being portraiture ) so this slither of good news has made me feel more positive for the future as a successful artist.
